Monsoons!

This monsoon season has been a good one!

One of our clients has received over 20 inches of rain this summer!

The monsoons were a little late in getting started this year. The rains started happening later in July.

Well, one Saturday afternoon in July our family decided to go out to the mountains. (This is easy to do when you live in St. David). We decided to ride to the top of the mountain where the cell phone towers are - I'm not sure what it's called.

We took out our Ranger, quad and a truck. Yep, the parents rode in the truck with the A/C because it was so HOT!

When we were getting closer to the mountain we saw clouds forming. And they were coming in fast. But I just HAD to have a picture at the top of that big mountain.

Good choice, huh?

But see that storm brewing over to the right? That's the way back home! We decided to hurry home. We drive down the mountain faster than usual. We only took the ranger and quad up to the top and left the truck at the base of the mountain. By the time we got to the bottom we were all soaked. So us parents and the 2 "littles" hopped in the truck as fast as we could and those poor big kids took off in the rain. That rain was coming down HARD and we were all so wet and cold!

Look at this rainbow!! We thought for sure that we were going to find the pot of gold at the end of it. I've never seen one so bright like that!

Then we came to a wash. This normally isn't a problem unless you have a flash flood and you can't cross! This picture doesn't show how big and fast this was running but there was no way that we were getting across that.

WOW!
So we just sat there. All of us in our Toyota Tacoma. It was a bit squishy and the windows kept fogging up.

I thought this was great! I just love adventures!

But after a few minutes, we decided to send a text for help.

Lucky for us Steven was home AND he had the big truck!

We turned back and met him at the on ramp to I-10. We were saved!

Steven got lots of wet hugs for coming to our rescue!

What an adventure!!

Did you have any adventures this monsoon season?
