a BIG mess!

Weed-eat, rake, and spray
Has this happened to your yard? With the rain, it's just gotten out of control?
No?
How about your neighbors yard? ;)
This is a clean-up where we weed-eated the weeds as close to the ground as we could, raked them up, and sprayed them.

This time of year it is really important to be very careful when looking in valve boxes, timers, ground cover, etc. You never know what you might find!
I don't know about you, but I don't like scorpions, snakes, black widows or the like.
Bonus tip for the day: Keep your vegetation nice and tidy where snakes are less likely to hide.

And sometimes we get to work in the rain!
What a mess.
But being in Arizona you gotta love the rain!
Plus rain doesn't scare our guys either (unless it's a downpour LOL).
This monsoon season was a little different than in previous years. There wasn't too many days that we had to work in the rain or got delayed because of it.
However, it does create a mess sometimes.
Is your yard overgrown with weeds? Did you have some wash-out?

Funny Friday
The crew leaders recently got iphones.
Seems like they're pretty happy about that!

I recently read an article about this.
The original study came from the MythBusters. You can read it here.
These MythBusters, Adam and Jamie test urban legends and beliefs by scientific testing.
So this time, they took an old wives' tale of talking to your plants to encourage healthy plant growth.
They got some pea plants and separated them into 3 groups.
Group 1 was separated and played a soundtrack of "loving praise".
Group 2 was separated and had a soundtrack playing of "cruel insults".
And the 3rd group sat in silence.
What they found was that the 3rd group did the poorest, but there was no clear difference between the group that heard "loving praise" or "cruel insults".
So, even if you don't have anything nice to say I guess it wouldn't hurt to talk to your plants!
