These MythBusters, Adam and Jamie test urban legends and beliefs by scientific testing.
So this time, they took an old wives' tale of talking to your plants to encourage healthy plant growth.
They got some pea plants and separated them into 3 groups.
Group 1 was separated and played a soundtrack of "loving praise".
Group 2 was separated and had a soundtrack playing of "cruel insults".
And the 3rd group sat in silence.
What they found was that the 3rd group did the poorest, but there was no clear difference between the group that heard "loving praise" or "cruel insults".
So, even if you don't have anything nice to say I guess it wouldn't hurt to talk to your plants!
